Hello
The Practice

"Yoga takes you into the present moment, the only place where life exists." — Patanjali

Yoga is truth. Yoga distills the chaos. Yoga allows me to live fearlessly — or at least, fear less.

Over the past 20+ years, I’ve fallen out of a regular practice more times than I can count. But I always return to my mat. It’s where my body makes sense, and the only place my mind finds stillness. The comfort and clarity I feel there has anchored me through life.
Yoga has given me more than I could have imagined — a deeper connection to myself and to the world around me. As my asana (posture) practice has evolved, so has my appreciation for the subtle layers of yoga. Meditation and breathwork are now as essential as any “cool” pose.
I’m always learning, re-learning, and adapting. The beauty of yoga is that there is always more to explore, and thus, more to practice.
I completed my 200-hour YTT in 2018 with Experience Alaya, and my Yin 200-hour YTT in 2020 with Shanti Atma Yoga. Most recently, I earned my Yoga Nidra Certification through Experience Alaya.
Yoga changed my life — and it’s my honor to share this practice with my community.

The Path
As many of us do, I came to yoga as a form of movement for fitness. Walking into the gym or yoga studio can be so intimidating, especially when you feel like you don't fit the typical mold. But when I found an instructor who was challenging and open, I found my home. As I continued to practice I found my time on the mat growing into something so much more. Yoga feels so good in my body that it was easy for me to stick with the physical practice. I can't be bothered to compete with people and I'm clumsy, so sports have never made sense to me, but movement and breath does. Practice has helped me make peace with a body that never felt like it was meant to be doing physical things. The subtle work (meditation and pranayama) has become an integral part of the physical work. I have learned how to manage quite a bit of emotional turmoil through a regular breath and stillness practice.

The Work
I like movement to be playful and fun. My classes reflect those feelings. Yoga and it's philosophy permeate my whole life so it's not suprising to find that yoga spills into spin class too. You might get a dose of pranayama (breathing) to help you climb hills more effectively and a really good stretch on a bike.
Expect playful, laid back, inclusive classes with a touch of fire. I will challenge you, then we will rest. We will laugh, breathe and move. You will leave class just a little more alive than when you arrived. With respect and gratitude to the ancient gurus who lead our spiritual paths, I want to bring you yoga classes that reflect that sacred practice while being creative, joyful and welcoming. Classes are a mish-mash of yoga styles; Hatha, Vinyasa, a little Yin, a little strength, and lots of surrender.
Props and modifications will be offered. All bodies are welcome.
