Your body is worthy.
Pashoka Pine Wellness
Hello
The Practice
I have fallen off regular yoga practice so many times over the last 20+ years, but I always come back to my mat. It’s where my body makes sense. Yoga has given me so much, leading me to a deeper connection the world around me. As the asana (postures) practice has evolved over the years, so has the subtle practice. Meditation and breath is as much integral to practice as doing cool poses. I am always learning (and re-learning) and adapting. There is always more to know, thus more to practice. I completed a 200 YTT in 2018
with the Experience Alaya, and Yin training through Shanti Atma in 2020. Yoga school changed my life and I am honored to share it my community.

The Path
As many of us do, I came to yoga as a form of movement for fitness. Walking into the gym or yoga studio can be so intimidating, especially when you feel like you don't fit the mold of a typical gym or studio goer. But when I found an instructor who was challenging and open to all bodies, I found my home. As I continued to practice I found my time on the mat growing into something so much more. Yoga feels so good in my body that it was easy for me to stick with the physical practice. I can't be bothered to compete with people and I'm clumsy, so sports have never made sense to me, but movement and breath does. Practice has helped me make peace with a body that never felt like it was meant to be doing physical things. The subtle work (meditation and pranayama) has become an integral part of the physical work. I have learned how to manage quite a bit of emotional turmoil through a regular breath and stillness practice.

The Work
I like movement to be playful and fun. My classes reflect those feelings. Yoga and it's philosophy permeate my whole life so it's not suprising to find that yoga spills into spin class too. You might get a dose of pranayama (breathing) to help you climb hills more effectively and a really good stretch on a bike.
Expect playful, laid back, inclusive classes with a touch of fire. I will challenge you, then we will rest. We will laugh, breathe and move. You will leave class just a little more alive than when you arrived. With respect and gratitude to the ancient gurus who lead our spiritual paths, I want to bring you yoga classes that reflect that sacred practice while being creative, joyful and welcoming. Classes are a mish-mash of yoga styles; Hatha, Vinyasa, a little Yin, a little strength, and lots of surrender.
Props and modifications will be offered. All bodies are welcome.
